Domestic systems install & repair

Plumbing, gas, heating, and onboard living systems installed and serviced so daily life on board stays simple, with hot water that runs, taps that work, and heads that flush.

Overview

The systems you only notice when they fail.

Domestic systems are what make a boat liveable. Pressurised water, hot water, calorifier, heads and holding tank, gas cooker, fridge, shower drain, grey water. None of them are exciting until they stop working, at which point the rest of the boat suddenly does not work either.

We install, repair, and upgrade these systems with the same care as the engineering side. Pipework run cleanly, joints accessible, valves where you can reach them, gas work to standard, electrical sides properly fused and isolated.

Whether it is a single repair or a full refit, the goal is the same: systems that just work, year after year, with components that can actually be serviced when they eventually need it.

What's included

What domestic systems work covers.

  • Pressurised fresh water: pumps, accumulators, filters, taps
  • Calorifier and hot water: engine loop, immersion, and instant systems
  • Heads: manual, electric, vacuum, with proper anti-syphon and venting
  • Holding tanks, level sensors, and pump-out fittings
  • Galley: cookers, fridges, sinks, and worktop integration
  • Gas: bottle stowage, regulation, alarms, install to current standard
  • Heating loops, radiators, towel rails, and thermostat zones
  • Bilge, shower, and grey water drainage

Process

How a domestic systems job runs.

  1. Define the brief

Whether it is a fix, an upgrade, or part of a wider refit, the job starts by agreeing exactly what is in scope.

  2. Survey and quote

On-board look at existing pipework and routes. Quote built around what is actually behind the panels, not best-case assumptions.

  3. Install or repair

Quiet, tidy work at the boat. Existing systems isolated cleanly so the boat stays usable where possible.

  4. Test and hand over

Pressure tested, leak checked, and walked through with you so you know how to isolate, drain, and service everything.
