Generator fitting

Marine generators specified, mounted, and plumbed in for quiet, dependable auxiliary power, with the exhaust, fuel, and electrics handled to standard.

Overview

A generator is only quiet if it is installed quietly.

Generators get a bad reputation when they are dropped into the wrong space with the wrong exhaust and the wrong mounts. Done properly, a modern marine genset is unobtrusive, runs cleanly, and earns its place on the boat.

We spec gensets sized to your real AC and charging loads, not the headline brochure number. Mounting is on isolators that match the unit. Exhaust uses a proper water-injected route with a sound trap. Fuel is taken from the main tank with a dedicated standpipe.

Electrically, the genset is integrated with shore and inverter so the AC supply is always controlled, with no risk of two sources fighting. Output is metered so you know what the unit is doing.

What's included

What a generator install includes.

  • Sizing against your true AC and DC charging loads
  • Unit selection: encased, open frame, single or three phase
  • Vibration-isolated mounting and structural reinforcement where needed
  • Wet exhaust with sound trap and proper transom termination
  • Fuel pickup, return, and shut-off valve
  • Cooling system: raw water intake, anti-syphon, exchanger checks
  • AC integration with shore and inverter: changeover, RCBO, earthing
  • Remote panel and run-hour metering at the helm or panel

Process

How a generator install runs.

  1. Load review

What you actually want to run when shore is not available. This sizes the unit.

  2. Spec and quote

Unit, ancillaries, and labour all itemised, with reasoning for the spec.

  3. Install

Mounted, plumbed, wired. Exhaust route planned to keep noise down and water out.

  4. Commission

Run under load, AC integration tested, panel walkthrough, and service intervals confirmed.
